April showers bring May flowers.

FARM CENTER UPDATES

Construction has officially begun on our exhibit hall! Spanning an impressive 60 x 100 feet, this versatile space will feature open/close door operations, making it the perfect venue for any event. From captivating craft exhibits to dynamic business conferences, our new hall is poised to be the epicenter of excitement and innovation.

We're thrilled to announce the kickoff of the Leadership Oconee County 2024 Project!

Our journey begins with the development of a bottomland portion of the FARM Center, marking a significant step forward in our community's growth and sustainability efforts through an Agricultural Incubator Farm!

Excitement is brewing as we unveil our latest acquisition: a vintage 1926 cotton gin engine made by Continental Gin Company. Under the skilled hands of Kevin Harbin and his team, this historic marvel is being meticulously revived for our ByGone Days event on May 18th at the FARM Center.

UPCOMING EVENTS

FFA SPOTLIGHT

We're passionate about engaging with our community, especially in nurturing the next generation of farmers and students. In Oconee County, there are three FFA programs at each high school: West Oak, Walhalla, and Seneca. These programs provide rich opportunities for future generations to receive a comprehensive education and prepare them for whatever challenges lie ahead.

Supporting Future Farmers and Students in Oconee County

The FARM Center has a new intern, Kaitlyn Patterson. She is a junior at Seneca high school and an active member of their FFA chapter. Kaitlyn has grown up in Seneca her whole life, and has known about the FARM center since she was a child. She became invested in working with us when she became a member of the Seneca FFA Chapter and started helping at Ag Days. She is working alongside our very own Abigail Gibson to work on the FARM Center’s social media management. She is excited to help the FARM Center grow in opportunities via social media and engaging the community!
